With the force measuring unit, the test force is always in view
Toppling gravestones are not just a nuisance – they can cause life-threatening injuries. For this reason, stability tests on standing monuments must be carried out and documented at all cemeteries in Germany after the frost period. For correct and verifiable testing, every standing gravestone from a height of 50 cm must be subjected to a pressure of 300 newtons at least once a year. If a grave stele withstands this force, its stability is proven in accordance with the TA-Grabmal directive; if not, the gravestone must be marked with a warning sticker and, if necessary, secured further, and the grave user must be asked to have its stability restored. In doing so, the cemetery operator fulfils their duty of care and is protected against claims for damages and compensation resulting from toppled gravestones.
The force measuring unit for more possible uses
If you want to use the full range of applications of your Kipp-Tester – i.e. carry out both initial tests with 500 N and routine tests with 300 N of force – the force measuring unit (KME) is an indispensable addition: the drag pointer precisely marks the test force applied and provides information about the stability of the respective monument. Incidentally, the KME does not necessarily have to be purchased with a new device – it can also be fitted later, for example if your field of work has expanded or you simply want to keep an additional eye on the respective test force.
