Safety for visitors and cemetery operators
Unstable gravestones are not just a nuisance – they are a danger to life and limb of visitors and workers at the cemetery. For this reason, stability tests on standing monuments must be carried out and documented at all cemeteries in Germany after the frost period. For correct and verifiable testing, every standing gravestone from a height of 50 cm must be subjected to a minimum force of 300 newtons at its upper edge once a year. If a grave stele withstands this force, its stability is proven in accordance with the TA-Grabmal directive; if not, the gravestone must at least be marked with a warning notice and grave users must be asked to have its stability restored. In doing so, the cemetery operator fulfils their duty of care and is protected against claims for damages and compensation resulting from toppled gravestones.
"PROFI-SET" for professional use
If you frequently have many gravestones to test for stability and want to do this professionally and routinely – and possibly save not only time but also money – then the "PROFI-SET" of our Kipp-Tester should be your first choice: this set for everyday use at cemeteries contains the Kipp-Tester with force measuring unit and drag pointer, a transport case, the handling aid, the test certificate, 100 yellow warning stickers "Caution – risk of accident" as well as one free maintenance and calibration within one year of purchase – considerable savings compared to buying the items individually! With our Kipp-Tester with force measuring unit and drag pointer, you carry out stability tests properly and professionally in accordance with the requirements of the German Natural Stone Academy (DENAK).
Desired test force preset
The test force of the Kipp-Tester is calibrated to 300 or 500 newtons as requested by the customer, and thanks to the drag pointer in the force measuring unit it remains traceable at what force the gravestone gave way. This is not strictly required, but it increases the acceptance of your tests among grave users. An equally force- and time-saving accessory is the solid handling aid, which works like a tripod and makes use of leverage. This is easy on the back and protects against premature exhaustion; moreover, it increases the testing speed and should considerably boost the daily workload. The frame of the approx. 150 cm high handling aid is made entirely of rust-free square aluminium tube, all connections are firmly bolted, and the Kipp-Tester can be adjusted continuously in height. The 100 yellow warning stickers "Caution – risk of accident" should suffice for a start. With the "PROFI-SET" you are perfectly equipped for your testing assignments.
